Spain-Portugal

I am going for 0-0 for tomorrow's game, Portugal seem to score very few goals in general, at 8.8 I will have a punt. I hope Japan overcome Paraguay.
Today could not trade but Brazil game was good for under 2,5 trading as the first goal came in the 35 min.

France

The odds on France to win tomorrow are simply crazy.Currently win for France is at 2,38 at Betfair. I think France will win tomorrow comfortably. They have not played great at all, but despite all the scandals recently they will come out tomorrow and perform.South Africa have been poor at the back and concede easy goals.

Update

The last two days have been frustrating. World cup trading looks too bad to be true. I was going to lay Ivory Coast and then I changed my mind. Why? I have no idea, but there you go, have to take it on the chin and move forward.

For tomorrow I will trade under 2,5 goals on Spain-Honduras game currently at 2,48.

Happy Punting everyone!

Brazil v Ivory Coast

I am laying Brazil at 1.81 at the moment. I know it is a risky business but there you go. Hope Sven will produce something special to make a surprise!

England - Algeria- great for trading, bad for watching

What a boring game, I personally kind of predicted what will happen but could not believe me eyes what I am seeing. The team looked out of its debt, no believe no desire-simply awful. Great for trading though. The market wend wild and over 2,5 goals went up to 2.22 at one point during the day. Pity I was at work and could no follow it it up. I keep saying and will say it again - it is all in the head!!!

England-Algeria

For tomorrow's game most people expect a lots of goals, however I will go the other way and I am backing under 2,5 goals currently at 1.91 and will look to trade out at around 1.75. This is a very important game for England and they will make sure they win. I will have a look how the game starts and will trade out immediately if the game is open from the start. In this game the score can be 3-0 by half time. My theory is that England will be very nervous at the beginning simply because everyone expects them to win. I could be very wrong indeed but will take the risk as the goals in this World Cup are so rare.

Forlan is the one!

Spot on today! Diego Forlan two glorious beauties produced outstanding game. South Africa simply were outplayed all along in this game. Tomorrow I am going for the under 2,5 goals from now at 1,71 so will be looking to trade out at 1,6 for a hefty profit.

Spain-Switzerland - Update

How right I could be? I had a comment a few days ago that teams like Spain/Holland/England have no chance of winning the tournament simply because they do not believe that they can do it. There is no question about their technical and tactical ability, however the one ability they are missing on BIG tournaments is psychological. I think this is the most important ability to have in such a massive games, when whole the world is watching. How on earth can you explain the fact that a team(Spain) who has one loss in 54 games can lose such an important game against a team who never won against them in 105 years??? I really hope that I am wrong because I love watching attractive football which these countries offer in abundance.

Spain-Switzerland

Brazil were lucky to win tonight. I predicted over 1,5 goals yesterday but got it almost totally wrong. The market was heavily backing Brazil to win however the odds on over 1,5 moved very quickly up when Brazil straggled to produce anything at the first half. I kind of knew North Korea will get tired in the second half as the Brazilians will push forward but the first goal was very lucky indeed. Half the world and his dog were punting Brazil to win and I was afraid that the world will collapse if they fail. There are so much money nowadays in sports market that something horribly bad will happen eventually one day to many of us.

Tomorrow's odds at 1,30 for Spain to win are simply too good to be missed. However I will opt to trade under 2,5 goals starting tonight by backing it at 1,92 and see how the market goes but will be looking to trade out at around 1,85 which could come down tomorrow before the game or in the first 5 min of the game.

I reckon Uruguay will not lose tomorrow, South Africa looks dodgy at the back and Mr Forlan will surely punish them, so I am going on the Asian Handicap for Uruguay -0, where I will lose my money only if Uruguay lose, odds 1,73 look good to me.

World Cup thoughts

Day 4 is gone and the World Cup is in full heat, a shame I cant watch it due to work! I am able to watch the evening game only but there you go. Certainly the market has been right about the lack of goals-from 11 games so far only one finished over 2,5 goals. It seems there is a trend to be followed - back the unders before the game then lay them off in the first few minutes for 5-10% back on your stake. The liquidity is good and the risk is minimal as long as we do now become greedy!

Tomorrow's Brazil game should be a good watch. Over 1,5 goals is 1,19 which according to me is a great value as the price will not move up alot even if there are no goals in the first 30 min.

Germany to qualify-update

Germany are simply brilliant on World Cups, they are like machine which never fails/breaks.I have made an observation a few days ago at their unbelievable odds to qualify at 1,24.Now they can be lay off at odds of 1,05 so if you got there before today's game you could be at least 20% up on your stake. That was one of the most certain bets you could have on this World cup. I could go on and on about Germany, their ability to produce constantly winning teams at Major tournaments is simply outstanding. From investors point of view they offer great value as for some reason they are often undervalued!!!

Silence

This is how I feel after today's trading. Messi was brilliant, England were not at any point. A shame same story happens again with our goalkeepers!

Happy Punting everyone!

South Korea-Greece

The odds for South Korea are going down.......any reason for that? Looks really strange to me the market to favour the Asians, unders 2,5 goals is currently at 1,48!!! So everyone and his mother expects no goals, I personally think the market is overreacting on this one. Lets watch and see. Sending off market is quite attractive as both teams keep a good discipline.

World cup - day 1

It seems my thoughts before the World cup are right up to now, second game running the market is going heavily backing unders goals - 2,5 goals market the most popular. Currently Uruguay - France is goalless half time with not many clear chances for goal. The fear of loosing and not conceding a goal makes the games less attractive to watch but great for trading on the unders markets. Today i made 9,15% back on my stake. On the first game South Africa-Mexico I was in trouble as my judgement was wrong so I had to take a loss and switch my trading and luckily made a slight win. I am very happy that I am starting to learn to accept losses and to move forward. The second game Uruguay-France all went in tact and I made a reasonable return of around 8% on my stake. Tomorrow there are 3 games and hope England can have a great start of World cup 2010.

South Africa - Mexico - update

Great opening game, was scary in the first 10 min as South Africa were so nervous and looked like coinciding a goal any minute now. Mexico could wrap up the game in the first half but great chances were missed. There are so much money in every single market and it is crucial not to lose focus. Under goals markets look very popular and it should be! There is a trend developing where everyone backs the under markets as the market thinks there will be few goals so there will be opportunities in a certain games where odds for overs will be great value.

South Africa - Mexico

Usually opening games are very slow paced as no one wants to make a mistake first and I can see 0-0 or 1-1 written all over it. More sensible approach will be to back under 2,5 goals however currently there is little value in it at 1,62 to back. Nevertheless I do not expect many goals in the first 15 minutes so backing before the game and laying in the first 15 min seems good enough to me.Good luck to all.

1 day to go!

Today traded one game only Torino-Brescia, made 4,32% back on my stake. Cant wait for the World Cup to start, they will be 64 games to trade, hopefully I will be able to trade on most of them, asked already to finish earlier at work, so for this reason will need to start much earlier than usual. So certainly the next 4 weeks will be very interesting and hopefully successful!

Group D - Germany to Qualify

I was looking through the groups and could not believe my eyes when I saw the odds for Germany to qualify are at 1,24 at the moment at Betfair. There are no sure bets but that one looks good enough to me. Germany never failed to pass the group stages but once in 1938. So 24% back on your stake is truly amazing return. Their first game is against Australia and if they win the odds will go down to 1,06-1,08 probably. I just cant see any reason not to back them to qualify.

La Furia

Only one game today Spain - Poland where I made a reasonable return. Spain are so good at the moment I cant see how anyone can beat them, however they never do great on World Cups. I reckon they will do ok but nothing near to as everyone expects them. Which will prove to me once again that it is all in the head in big tournaments. Great individuals does not guarantee a team to reach the final - just look at Netherlands/Spain/England , and quite the opposite we can say for Germany.

Weekend wonders

Started the weekend in great shape, was up more than 25% on my stake then an amateur error cost me £396, really not concentrating - was trading in markets where I promised myself not to, while also chatting on skype and thats how disaster stroked! Lesson learned so now need to move forward and avoid that kind of silly errors in the future. My new strategy is working though and when I learn finally not to do silly errors like yesterdays all should be good. Over the weekend made around 70% on my stakes.

Stosur v Schiavone

I usually avoid trading tennis as I have no much knowledge about it. Thinking of laying Stosur as 1,25 looks good enough to me. Schiavone will play the game of her life! Lets see how it goes!

Music

Uff happy the week is over, was manic at work and it looks over the weekend will not be much different. When I read how some people are able to make a living form betting/trading sports I feel absolutely jealous I have to admit.
It is music in everyone's ears when winning. So far so good, today traded a few games and the biggest profit came from the Slovenia's game. Caming back to my bad habits trading markets which have been unlucky for me in the past. Made 27,44% back on my stake, however my stakes vary as I don't get filled 100% all the time but there you go I am happy with it as the market now are all friendlies. Something certainly is developing, I become more patient and consistent in my approach to trading.

It is all in the head!

Trading on the exchanges daily is not easy, it looks fun and exciting, but not when losing days hits you, that's for sure! Today I played squash and beat a guy who used to bather me six months ago, it shows how practice makes perfect. I play squash for a year now and quite enjoying it, still not playing well but getting there. I am very competitive person and aim to win at any cost. That competitiveness costs me sometimes when trading because I hate losing, and I do not like losing days but have to accept that they should and will occur. It is all in the head to accept it and move forward. I am nowhere near accepting a loss and every time when happens I tend to lose a fortune after that chasing unreasonable games. So enough moaning. A few trades today on the friendlies. Came back home in the first half of the Spanish game and was surprised how ugly they played. Traded the German and the Italy games as well from where most of the profit came tonight.

Mind Games

What a day! There are no any decent games around and it is hard to trade. So many friendly games and no one knows what to expect from them. There is no any real patterns. I made 11.01% back on my stake but probably I should not have traded at all. Also I managed to trade in games without liquidity which is pretty scary as there are no movements for minutes!

Stick to the rules!

It was a difficult trading today. Was manic at work so my head was still spinning when I got back home.At least the weather is improving day by day! I have traded only two games, in Switzerland game the market went wild for a while and I decided to take what I can and leave. In the Holland game I broke my rule and started to do things I should not do but quickly realized how stupid I am and stopped. I made 10,70% back on my stake which is a good return. I keep going out of line and wish I have the power to stop that. My stakes are still very small and with time they will reach 500 so the plan is to be able to do around 10% back on my stake so 50 will be a reasonable profit for the day.On paper looks so easy and good, actually to make 10% back on a 500 stake on so many markets should be relatively doable...Not!!!
